About UF Beijing Center for International Studies

The UF Center for International Studies in Beijing, China, will provide services to the UF community in four major areas: (1) offering international studies programs to UF students, in the formats of summer courses and semester abroad; (2) recruiting international students from China to UF campus; (3) marketing UF distance education programs in China; and (4) providing opportunities for UF faculty and students to conduct research in China.

The UF center in Beijing will assist the UF colleges to offer international studies programs to UF students. Such programs may have the format of summer courses or semester abroad. It will also join forces with the top universities in China to offer courses in Chinese language and literature.

The UF center in Beijing will develop close ties with some top universities in China to recruit students for UF. It will establish exchange programs and joint education programs with Chinese universities. It will also work with recruiting agencies in China to promote UF.

Establishing working relationships with Chinese universities, government branches, and large corporations will allow the UF Beijing Center to promote UF’s distance education programs in China.

On a first-come-first-serve basis, it will provide temporary office facilities and secretarial support to UF faculty and students to conduct research in China. It will also provide help to UF faculty to establish working relationship with the faculty of Chinese universities.
