Professional engineers can earn a master’s degree at a time and place convenient to them through programs from UF EDGE (University of Florida Electronic Delivery of Graduate Engineering). UF EDGE programs are delivered either via streaming video or DVD directly to the student. hese are the same courses taught by University of Florida College of Engineering faculty on campus. Courses are supplemented by additional course material and interaction.

certificate in environmental policy and management

The College of Engineering at the University of Florida announces a graduate-level Certificate in Environmental Policy and Management (CEPM). Administered by the Environmental Policy Center of the Department of Environmental Engineering Sciences, the program includes courses offered by the College of Law and the Food and Resource Economics Department of the College of Agriculture. The CEPM is offered entirely online and is available to on-campus students as well. Individuals working in, or interested in learning more about, environmental policy and management can become certified in a body of knowledge in these specializations without formally pursuing graduate degrees if they so desire.

The CEPM emphasizes scientific, technologic, economic, legal, political, and social dimensions of policy formation and implementation, and environmental management. The distance learning delivery mode allows students in remote locations to complete course assignments and communicate with faculty and other students anywhere and in their own time. The program maintains the high academic standards of the University of Florida.

Admission

Applicants must have:

Applicants must have earned a bachelor’s degree. They may apply for admission to the UF Graduate School, may be admitted as post-baccalaureate (6-EG) students, or they may be admitted as non-degree seeking students (0-EG). It is not necessary to be admitted to the Graduate School to earn a certificate, but students who are admitted under the 6-EG classification, and later enroll in a graduate program, may petition to transfer up to 15 credit hours to their graduate degree program. To qualify for a certificate, students must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or better for the entire program. A grade of C in one course only will be accepted, providing the overall 3.0 average is maintained. No grade below C will be accepted.

申请人应当具备：

申请人必须拥有学士学位。申请人也可申请成为UF研究生学院的研究生，也可申请成为学士后（6-EG）或非学位学员（0-EG）。学员无需为了取得学位证书而进入研究生院深造。但以6-EG级别被录取、后又注册研究生课程的学员可将15个学分小时转至研究生学位课程。学员平均的GPA累积分数不得低于3.0。如果GPA累计平均分数维持为3.0，只允许一门课程的分数为C。C以下的分数均视为不合格分数。

The Program
The CEPM program includes a total of 15 semester hours of credit. There are 4 core requirements. The 5th course is an elective. The core requirements are specified below. The elective may be chosen from one of the courses shown below which was not taken as part of the core. The program is as follows:
1. Required: ENV 5075 - Environmental Policy (3) [Fall], or ENV 6441 - Water Resources Planning and Management (3) [Spring]
2. Required: EES 6051 - Advanced Environmental Planning and Design (3) [Fall], or EES 5307 - Ecological Engineering (3) [Spring]
3. Required: AEB 6933 - Natural Resource and Environmental Policy (3) [Spring]
4. Required: EES 6318 - Industrial Ecology (3) [Summer]
5. Electives: ENV 6932 - The Global Environment Policies and Institutions (3) [Fall, Spring], EES 6007 - Adv. Energy and Environment (3) [spring], ENV 6932 - Industrial Ecology (3) [Summer], or one of the courses not selected in 1 and 2 above.
